Our Clients

UEP's IT clients span a wide range of industry sectors in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, including government, finance, insurance, and professional services.

These are just some examples of UK and European clients for whom we have developed collaborative solutions using Lotus Notes and Domino...

Improve your image through enhanced email signatures

A specialist legal services provider had been looking for ways to enhance their image in email by better management of standard signature blocks. They wanted to go beyond plain text, using HTML to make email signatures attractive and informative, yet be specific to the sender. UEP looked at a number of solution options, debating the pros and cons of server-based and client-based solutions, aiming to find a solution that met the clients' goals, whilst ensuring that the strengths of the facilities already present in the Lotus Notes email template were utilised and delivered a low cost of ownership and operation.  Based on those requirements, UEP developed a centralised mechanism for creation and deployment of signature files to the Lotus Notes clients. This application provides a simple yet powerful and sophisticated template-based mechanism for building signatures from HTML templates and replaceable field values.

Specialist Claims System for Loss Adjuster

A leading UK loss adjuster, working in a highly specialised market sector, saw the opportunity to replace their core operational system, which was based on Microsoft Access, with a Lotus Notes application originally developed for household and general insurance needs.

Using an interactive prototyping approach, UEP worked with the client to tailor the application to their specialist needs. This approach blended together the process of exploration of the base application, the specification of change and application development; this allowed us to work to a weekly cycle of code development, test, and review.

Working this way gave the client the benefit of finer control of the development process.

He was able to touch and feel the application at every stage of the development, provide immediate feedback, and see the effect of changes.  This is in contrast to traditional development methods where feedback occurs much later in the process, and change is much more difficult. This made the project much more visible, generating ownership and involvement from the whole of the client's team.

The next step will be to use Domino XPages to deliver the application to browser users as well as Notes clients for direct client case monitoring and reporting, and to Blackberries for direct input from adjusters in the field.

The end result is greatly improved service to clients, significant competitive edge, and increased revenue and profitability.

Case Monitoring and Workflow Control

Working for a regulatory authority within the DoH UEP designed and developed a Lotus Notes based system to monitor, track and manage the progress of medical adverse incident reports, from healthcare professionals, members of the public and medical device manufacturers, initiating timely and appropriate action to protect the public’s health. This has provided our client with a single, flexible source of data for analysis and trending of incident reports, and for monitoring and management of business targets.

Web-based Time and Attendance Recording

A large patent granting authority undertook a radical review of their existing Lotus Notes based Office Resource Recording Application and sought tenders for the redevelopment task. The purpose of this intended development was to enhance, modify or replace the existing application to make it compliant to today’s and future business needs. The key requirements were the provision of a web based interface for users, to respect ergonomic aspects, requirements and expectations of users and to ensure timely system response times for the user. UEP achieved these goals by using the new Domino 8.5 XPages functionality to provide a web browser interface which was designed using the relevant ergonomic guidelines and built to deliver a look and feel more consistent with other web-based applications. In addition UEP developed a web-based Blackberry-compliant module for management of contractor time sheets and added a number of interfaces to SAP to retrieve SAP data on booked vacations and public holidays and to upload Flexitime submissions to SAP, thereby reducing duplicate data management.
