CSR Overview

Unipart Group is a platinum status holder and with a big tick for Environmental Leadership in the Community’s 2012 CR Index - the UK’s leading benchmark for responsible businesses  . It also holds the Carbon Trust Standard, a mark of excellence which recognises organisations at the forefront on tackling climate change.

This continued recognition for our company’s efforts in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility reaffirms our belief that the principles on which we have founded our business – the Unipart Value Set – are as relevant today as they were when they were launched in 1987.

During the past 20 years or more we have worked hard to embed those values into everything we do. A few years ago, we added the 18 Principles of The Unipart Way to our operational framework for doing business. With these principles, we further reinforced our commitment to engaging people at every level of the organisation, working in deep long-term relationships with our clients and suppliers, and eliminating waste from our processes.

In removing waste from every aspect of our business, and our supply chains, we continue to conserve scarce environmental resources. We use creativity before capital to solve problems and address issues, finding solutions that are low cost in terms of energy resources as well as in terms of cash.

The link between The Unipart Way and our activities under the banner of Corporate Social Responsibility is clear. Through developing long term constructive relationships with our key stakeholders we share our values and work together for mutual advantage. This applies to our supply chains with clients, customers and suppliers, as well as with partners in the wider community.

This thinking provides us with a framework for positive action that inspires not just our employees – who continue to devote personal time and skill to working with charity groups – but also our community partners, in supporting a variety of schemes in the fields of Education, Employability and Health.

Even in the current global economic environment, we retain our focus on maintaining and improving our role as advocates and leaders for corporate social responsibility across all our stakeholder groups. We regard this as good business sense that will continue to permeate our all activities and endeavours.
